Let's Keep dancing

There are so many people who are hurting in the U.S. right now; our problem is small in the scheme of things. Still, if you'd like to help, we would be eternally grateful. We are a dance company of 11-17 year-old girls in Massachusetts and our dance studio has closed because of COVID19. We want to persist. We want to bring art and fun and beauty and light. We are a family who needs a little help. Specifically, $3000 to buy a dance floor so we can safely practice. Here is our story:
Our dance studio closed after 15 years. It has been a second home for all of us. Through this studio, each of us met people from different schools, neighborhoods and of different ages. We bonded through hard work and our love of dance. We were one of the smallest competitive dance companies in Massachusetts, but we have won significant awards. We'd like to think our company has been successful because we welcome people and are all appreciated and seen for ourselves as well as part of a unified team!
When we heard our dance studio was closing, it was devastating. Luckily, we have families who want to support us and our teacher - Kelsie Crowley - who believes in us. We've started calling ourselves KCDC - the Kelsie Crowley Dance Company. But, we don't have a dance center. One day we hope we will. In the meantime, our parents and Kelsie are finding backyards we can practice in (social distanced, in masks) and one of our wonderful parents has volunteered their well-ventilated garage as a dance studio until we figure out a more permanent situation. The garage floor is cement, though, so we need a cushioned dance floor. That's why we're doing this fundraiser.
Thank you for reading our story. We know there are so many bigger causes that deserve your money. We would be honored if you gave just $5 to ours. We promise to work as hard as we can to bring joy and fun through dance, and to celebrate community, through one of the great ways in which we can express ourselves.
Thank you!
Ailish, Sydni, Amanda, Madeline, Sophie, Selam, Lena, Eva, Charlotte, Yelisse, Fiona and Harper
