Wisconsin Health Professionals for Climate Action
Donation protected
Climate change is already affecting Wisconsin communities, and it’s harming our health.
Most Americans are not aware of the health harms associated with climate change. Only 27 percent can name a specific way in which climate change is harming our health. Few are aware that some groups of Americans—including the elderly, immunocompromised people, and children—are most likely to be harmed by climate change. There has been relatively little public discussion of the health harms of climate change. But we also know people are eager to hear from us health professionals. In fact, 88 percent of people trust doctors and nurses for health information, above family and religious leaders.
As nurses, doctors, and health professionals we have come together to form the Wisconsin Health Professionals for Climate Action because we see a need to share our growing understanding and concern about the health consequences of climate change with all Wisconsinites.
100% of donations will go to our projects and corresponding operations. Your help will allow us to expand our communication that the global climate crisis is a public health emergency, and advocate for equitable solutions to decrease the impact of climate change on human health.
We thank you for your support.
