Syris Knoll's journey with Type 1 Diabetes
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family.
This is our 2-year-old grandson, Syris. In February 2023, Syris was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
This is a very serious disease, especially at his age. My son Josh and Syris’ mom, Tabatha have been amazing advocates for their son, educating themselves of the disease and how they can properly help Syris and manage his diabetes.
Unfortunately, everything the doctors have tried has been unsuccessful to stabilize his condition. This little boy’s days are filled with constant poking, testing, monitoring and dosing, sadly nothing has been found to work for any length of time. Consequently, his kidney function is affected, and his eyes need to be checked by a specialist.
This illness has caused enormous stress and financial hardship for their family. Josh has not been able to go to his job as he and Tabatha are juggling who is at the hospital with Syris and who is taking care of their 11-month-old son Echo. Additionally, his doctor recommended that they purchase a pump to monitor and dose his insulin. This was not covered under his insurance. Josh and Tabatha purchased this pump incurring a monthly payment with the hope this would regulate his diabetes and make it more manageable. Sadly, this hasn’t been the case and things have gotten worse and unfortunately, they are back to square one for his treatment.
All prayers for our grandson and this family are greatly appreciated. We are asking for your help as any donation would be a blessing to help as they have a very long road ahead of them.
