Police Unity Tour - Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Hello all,
For those that don't know me, my name is Robert Mendenhall. I am a police officer for the San Leandro Police Department in San Leandro , California and have been a member of this agency since 1997. I am currently assigned to the Traffic/Motor Division.
It's an honor to have been selected to participate and represent my department in the 2017 Police Unity Tour this May in Washington DC. The tour is a five day ride from New Jersey to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in our nation's capitol.
The Police Unity Tour’s motto is: “We Ride for Those Who Died” and we raise awareness about America’s fallen officers.
The Unity Tour has asked each member to raise $2,500 for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which honors our nation's fallen officer's who have died in the line of duty. With every dollar that I raise for the Police Unity Tour, I’m doing my part to honor our nation’s fallen officers and I hope you will support me by making a donation to my page today.
Today in the United States, roughly 900,000 law enforcement officers put their lives on the line for the safety and protection of others. But, that protection comes at a very high price.
A few sobering statistics:
- Every 60 hours, a police officer is killed protecting our families and communities
- Each year, there are over 58,000 assaults on law enforcement officers
- In 2016, 140 police officers were killed in the Line of Duty
The Police Unity Tour started in 1997, with just 18 riders. Today, the Tour has over 1900 members from all across the country. The Police Unity Tour has donated millions of dollars to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Please visit www.policeunitytour.com for more information.
The Police Unity Tour is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. All donations are fully tax deductible.
