Help us, help our dad

Our beloved Dad, Peter Lamey, a hard-working and dedicated husband, father and Poppy, suffered a devastating spinal bleed on Tuesday, March 21st, due to a rare side affect of taking Warfarin (blood thinner), which he takes every day to manage his replacement heart valve, done some 20 years ago.

The spinal bleed saw Dad/Peter endure excruciating pain and partial paralysis, whilst facing many uncertainties. With his wife Mum/Karen next to him, late on Wednesday 22nd Dad/Peter headed into a 5+ hour emergency surgery at Westmead Hospital, to save his life and stop the bleed. He then spent the next 6 days in ICU before being transferred to the Neurosurgical & Trauma close observation unit.

Thankfully the surgeons were able to stop the bleed and clear the spinal sack of blood build up but currently Dad/Peter is still experiencing partial paralysis to his lower body.

Dad/Peter's journey has only just begun but doctors have advised that his recovery will be long and arduous, with many unknown outcomes. The Doctors have told us this is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. With this in mind we are hoping to rally around Dad/Peter and Mum/Karen during this difficult time and the times that lay ahead.

Dad/Peter is the sole income earner, and having run a successful business for many years, working a very labourous job as a roofer, the future now is very uncertain. The financial burden of his medical treatment, rehabilitation and potential house modifications are unknown.. not to mention the loss of income from his business during this time.

As his friends and family, we have a unique opportunity to show Dad/Peter and Mum/Karen the love and support that they have always shown us.

Our goal is to provide Dad/Peter & Mum/Karen with some relief and peace of mind during this difficult time, so they can focus on Dad/Peter's recovery without the added stress of financial strain. The reality we now face is Dad/Peter will never be a Roofer again and we hope Mum/Karen can stay by his side, 100% devoted, as he rehabilitates. Dad/Peter and Mum/Karen are already making sacrifices ..selling Peters beloved new 2022 Hilux along with their much loved camper trailer, just to name a few.

We are asking you to please donate whatever you can to help ease the financial burden on Dad/Peter and Mum/Karen, as there is no longer any income stream.

For many we acknowledge money is very tight with all the interest rate rises and increased cost of living. So if you can’t financially assist please keep the love, support and prayers coming.. that is just as valuable, in fact priceless ❤️

No amount is too small, and every contribution will make a significant impact on their journey to recovery and whatever that maybe.

Dad/Peter and Mum/Karen have always been the first to chip in, support whoever needs it and show so much unconditional love to those around them. Now, it's our turn to show them that we've got their backs.

We must emphasis that we know Dad/Peter will fight hard to regain normalcy and new dreams will be created when we are on the other side!!
