Mark J. McLaughlin, age 55, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2019 surrounded by Kelly and his children following a courageous 9 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Mark was born on April 30th 1963 in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late Christopher and Dorothy (nee Collins) McLaughlin. Loving friend and former husband to Kelly (nee McCalla) and the loving father of Megan (Bryan), Kaitlyn, Ryan, Madison and Kara, he is further survived by siblings Tina (Andy) Cella, Maureen (Jim) Fendrick, David (Andra) and Keith (Janet), along with many nieces and nephews, and his four legged grand-pup Ella.
Mark graduated from Drexel University in 1987 with a B.S. in Commerce and Engineering services, and went on to become Comcast's Senior Director Partner of Sales. He was a consummate professional, known for providing thoughtful advice and fostering growth in the people and clients he worked with. In his free time, Mark enjoyed taking walks in Ridley Creek State Park, spending time with his friends, and attending to the long list of basketball games, dance recitals, and football games that his children partook in.
Mark was a big fan of jumping in the back bay at Stone Harbor Beach and was a self-proclaimed ping-pong master. Mark always made people laugh with his sarcasm and humor, and will be remembered for his kind demeanor. He was a devoted father who ensured that his children felt loved and were always provided for. His children remember him for his bravery and grace in fighting cancer, and are hopeful that in heaven he will be able to enjoy one of his big family dinners again. Mark always urged those around him to do the next right thing. He will be forever missed and live on through his children.
This Go Fund Me has been set up to support the families request that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to support Ryan, Madison, and Kara's education. All donations will be sent to RMK McLaughlin Education 2.1.2019.
