Chromebooks for Refugees
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Zayan Kajani and I am now a 5th grader at the Dorris-Eaton School in San Ramon, California.
Last year during Covid, I managed my first GoFundMe campaign with your help and ended up raising enough money to provide school supply for over 450 children in Antioch, California. To this day, I hear the teachers and students are still using those supplies.
As I learn more about the world, I am beginning to realize that education can not be taken for granted. It is a privilege. Many bright minds don’t have the necessary tools to gain access to learning.
This holiday season I am hoping to take advantage of all the Black Friday sales and buy Chromebooks for refugee families, in particular, those that have recently arrived in the Bay Area from Afghanistan.
Last weekend, we helped over 40 families at the East Bay Bazaar, a pop up event set up for refugees. We ran out of Chromebooks first, so I know there is a need. The next East Bay Bazaar to serve refugees is scheduled for December 11, 2021 in Pleasanton, CA. I plan to distribute them at this event.
I am hoping to buy at least 40 Chromebooks for 40 families, but even hoping to help more families. I know the computers will be very beneficial, and can be used to do homework, watch a show, look for jobs, and even connect with far away family and friends.
Could you imagine not being able to see your family for such a long time? I really want to make their holiday season special and welcome them to America with a great gift. Please help me make this a reality.
No amount is too small. Thank you in advance.
