Hudson Strong

On December 9th the Klotzbach Family received crushing news. Our three year old son, Hudson, had been in and out of doctors offices and emergency rooms for the past few months looking for answers to his stomach issues and other symptoms to no avail. On the 9th we detected blood in his urine that led us back to the emergency room. We insisted more test be ran and received news we were not expecting. Hudson was diagnosed with stage four Wilms kidney cancer.

They immediately scheduled surgery to remove the kidney and tumor that had rendered the kidney ineffective. The scans also revealed the cancer had metastasized to his lungs and lymph nodes in the stomach. We knew chemotherapy and radiation would soon follow surgery.

Shorty after the kidney and tumor removal we received results of the pathology of the tumor itself. The pathology results validated that the tumor was at stage four Wilms and the rarest and most severe form of Wilms Cancer Diffuse Anaplastic. The pathology results were sent over to Cincinnati Childrens for a second opinion. Cincinnati is well known for their treatment of Wilms Cancer. Which led us to a Medflight transfer there. Due to the long term treatment plan we have had to uproot our lives from Knoxville, TN to just outside of Cincinnati, OH. We believe God has blessed Hudson with a great medical team, and that he is already answering prayers. But with the best care comes many financial burdens.
