Road Rage Assault: Help LGBT Advocate Rob Gill

I was picking up my husband from work in Niagara Falls. As I was turning into his workplace, I was struck by a very angry man in a Dodge pickup truck. After trying to gather his insurance information he became extremely violent and pushed me into the busy roadway. He grabbed my head and smashed it into the snow-covered pavement. I attempted to get up, yelling for help, and he came at me again striking my face and the side of my head at least three times. I thought he was trying to kill me.

I don't know if this was a targetted attack or if it was hate motivated, an investigation remains ongoing.

 

Police were called and he was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault.

 

 

I have sustained injuries to my neck, ear, face, wrist and a likely concussion.I am facing a long recovery. My vision is impacted and I'm unable to work until I'm healed. Unfortunately, I do not have any workplace benefits and will be without pay for the duration of my recovery. My Auto Insurance company is covering about $2,000 of rehab, but I've been told that I will likely need to pay for treatment out of pocket as it's expected to be over and above the auto insurance benefits.

 

 

If anyone can donate anything at all, my family would appreciate it. My clothing and iPhone were both damaged in the attack. I hope to be able to take civil action against the man who attacked me.
