Road to Malaysia UWH World Championships for Lawrence

Hi, my name is Lawrence Ndadaye and for 7 and 1/2 years I have been playing the sport Underwater Hockey.

For those who are unaware, Underwater Hockey or Octopush is a sport played at the bottom of the pool in teams of 6-a-side (with 4 substitutes), and the aim of the game is to work as a team to score by pushing a puck with hand-sized sticks into a metal goal which lies on the bottom at the wall of the other team. The typical scores for this sport could be compared to water-polo or football, depending on the intensity and closeness of the game. From the time I started playing up until now, I have played for Xarifa Juniors, a Manchester-based team competing and winning trophies and medals in several regional and national junior competitions, and have also been a member of the Manchester UWH Squad, progressing through the ranks to make it from the C to the A-team. 2 years ago I represented Great Britain and won as part of the U17 men's team in the International Tournament of Mulhouse against France's U17 men squad. Now I have been selected to represent Great Britain in the U19 men's category for the CMAS 6th Underwater Hockey Age Group World Championships held in Malaysia from July 16th-27th, a competition which will see us face other Countries such as France, Australia, and South Africa.

With extremely grateful help from sponsorships provided by PPS Equipment (Returnable Equipment Solutions) and my college Xaverian Sixth Form College, I have been able to raise the majority of the £2850 needed for this trip, however as the rest of the money has to come from my own pocket from working a part-time job, any additional donations that can help me close off the remainder of this payment would be very much appreciated.
