Road to Recovery for Amariah Pridgen!!

It is with a heavy heart and prayers that our family has decided to create a GoFundMe account on behalf of Amariah Pridgen.

On Saturday, January 14th, Amariah took a short trip with friends to Houston, Texas for a 1-day weekend trip. She was expected to return home on Sunday morning. Her parents (Clarence & Elisha Pridgen) received a phone call at 2 in the morning stating their daughter had been shot. Frantically, they drove from Louisiana to Houston, Texas in a state of panic and exigency. Upon arrival, they learned she sustain life-threatening injuries, which required immediate surgery and transfer to the intensive care unit.

Amariah is an innocent bystander who was involved in a deadly shooting in Houston, Texas on Sunday, January 15, 2023. A group of men discharged 50 rounds of gunfire with the intent to kill patrons at an outdoor establishment. The weapon used was an AK-47. The gunfire left one person dead and four others injured.

Amariah turned 20 years old on December 17th. She is a college student at Southern University majoring in Nursing, a member of the ROTC program, and serves her country as a Specialist in the U.S. Army National Guard.
