Road to Recovery - Hope Beattie

Hi, I'm Shana, one of Hope Beattie's close friends. In the early hours of Saturday morning, June 1st, Hope experienced a terrible accident at home, resulting in a broken neck. The last 24 hours have been an emotional roller coaster, but we are incredibly thankful for the excellent surgical team in Cairns. Hope is currently undergoing surgery to repair her C5 vertebrae, and the prognosis is optimistic for a full and active recovery. Despite the severity of the injury, the break is repairable, and we are hopeful that she will experience no long-term damage. This is the best possible outcome, and we are grateful for the skilled hands working to restore her health.

Rest assured, she’s receiving the best care and is in great hands. She’s avoided any life-threatening damage thus far, which we are incredibly thankful for. She’s remained positive and in high spirits during her stay in the hospital, with an incredible support system around her. She has a long road to recovery with a minimum of 6 weeks.

We’ve created this GoFundMe in an attempt to relieve her of the many responsibilities she has and allow her the process of healing, to recover at a pace at which she’s comfortable. Funds raised will go directly to Hope to cover her day-to-day expenses, allowing her to focus entirely on her recovery without the pressure of rushing back to work.
