Road to Reus 2024

Hi there,

My name is Paddy Cahill. I am the head coach of Carlow special olympics football club. On behalf of the entire Carlow special olympics club I am so excited to share this news. Our club has been chosen to select 11 athletes to represent Ireland in a football competition in Reus, Spain in October 2024. Never before has an Ireland team been selected entirely from Carlow athletes. This truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Carlow special olympics football club has grown from strength to strength over the last number of years, with the group doubling in size to over 20 athletes this year. The athletes hard work and dedication has led to our division 1 side winning our Leinster league 3 years in a row, and our division 2 side finishing close runners up in Leinster the last 2 seasons.

The competition in Reus will consist of the best of talent from all across Europe and present a huge test for our lads, but I'm more than confident we can compete against any opposition we encounter.

We kindly ask for your help with fundraising to pay for flights and kits for this incredible opportunity. I promise you all that we will represent Ireland, and Carlow with Pride!
