Sad update to post  the diner on the property caught on fire on July 29, 2020.  We now need funds to put up a temporary fence around the burned building and to get the building razed.   We still need to get a person on the property so the below still applies.  Please give generously   thank you 

Once again we are headed to the Roadrunner Retreat  to maintain this icon for heritage.  Many of you expressed that the sign was one of your favorites along the route and many have memories of seeing this structure in the glory days of Route 66, or after.   We need your help volunteering if you can do so, if you can not come in person a small or large donation would be appreciated.

We had a great deal of fun last year,  yes we pitched in, but it was great being with fellow Route 66 enthusiasts, and picking up trash, it was like a relics tour, you just never knew what you were going to find.  All kinds of old things out there.   This year we are cleaning out the garage of  the old service station, move tires to a recycle bin, pick up trash, and remove some of the brush that is getting out of hand plus help with the above mentioned tasks.  People are needed!   Everyone can work at their own pace and pick what they would like to do. 

The 2500 raised this year will enable us to repair the well and do electrical work to matiricalate towards the goal of having a full time keeper on the property and then to raise funds to light the sign!
