I lack much of the know-how but I've been passionate about cars all my life. Living in Ireland for the past 11 years. During my visit to Hungary last year for my Grandfather's funeral, I was able to buy a 1984 MK3 Ford Escort. I began restoring the car with the assistance of my parents, friends, and an active online community. My Fiancée's dream is to have a fully packed picnic basket in the car boot and explore Ireland to the fullest. Hence, I plan to drive the car across Europe and register it here.

Me and Herself plan to take a six-day road trip through six countries. The estimated cost of petrol is currently around €450 for the entire journey. Additionally, factoring in a flight, four-night's barebones accommodation, the cost of the ferry with a reserved cabin, and other expenses, the total costs are adding up quickly.

I have heaps of work done while trying to keep the car period accurate, and we've already spent around 4,000 km together without any issues. The next step is the 2,800 km road trip to Ireland!

I have invested a significant amount of time and money into this project already, and We would greatly appreciate any assistance during this final phase. Be assured, You WILL see us at a Cars 'n Coffee near you!

Update December 2023:

The final route has been planned. Flight, ferry and accommodations are provisionally booked. The journey starts on 26 April 2024 with a picnic basket in the boot. If all goes to plan we're arriving at Cork Harbor on 1 May! :)
