Roark Sanford Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Roark Sanford lost his life to suicide on the morning of Saturday, October 22, 2016. Roark was 18 years old and was a senior at Mattawan High School. He had Asperger's Syndrome and ADD, and was legally blind in one eye. Roark loved animals and had aspirations of becoming a veterinarian.
This fund is to help the family to cover several expenses related to this deep and unexpected loss, including cremation & funeral costs, and flying his older brother home from across the country for the memorial.
Half of all people with autism will run away at least once before they are 17 years old. Any excess funds will be donated to AACORN Farm. "The vision of AACORN Farm is adults with autism living a life of meaning and purpose through shared sustainable agricultural pursuits and innovative vocational and residential options" (http://aacornfarm.org/who_we_are/).
Anything you are able to give is greatly appreciated by Roark's parents and three brothers.
