Rob Griswold Needs Your Support

On January 16, 2023, my dad, Robert Griswold, sustained massive injuries from a tree cutting accident. When clearing trees in our yard, a tree fell the wrong way and landed on him. He suffered a broken pelvis and multiple vertebrae and ribs. What was an initial bad accident turned from bad to worse. On January 19th while hospitalized for his original injuries, my dad was participating in physical therapy. When attempting to stand with a walker, my dad collapsed and went into cardiac arrest from massive pulmonary emboli. He required ECMO life support and was intubated. His sternum and more ribs were broken from the life-saving CPR. He required extensive ICU level of care. He developed abdominal compartment syndrome, which required multiple surgeries. He experienced acute renal failure, requiring dialysis. In an instant, he became incredibly sick with multiorgan failure. Dad remains hospitalized and is thankfully on the long road to recovery. It is a medical miracle that he is alive today. He is the best “girl dad” in the world and the best husband to my mom, Melissa. We all need him here. To know Rob is to love Rob. He can make anyone laugh, even on their worst day. He is the purest soul and the most selfless person I have ever met. I am so proud to call Rob my dad; he is my hero. Multiple people have reached out asking how they can help us financially. I have not shared my dad’s status publicly until this time, as I have needed time to process all that has happened to him, and I have not left his side at the hospital. I feel it is important to share his story and for me to reach out on behalf of my family for financial support during this difficult time.
