Perhaps most of you know that Rob Jennings passed suddenly Jan 3 2024, at the age of 46. This was a very shocking and sudden loss to his family and the entire hockey community. He survived by his loving wife Jen, daughter Audrey and son Christian
I have known Rob Jennings for over 30 years, coached him in HS hockey, he also played on my SLC county league hockey team the "Rockets” for many years. Rob and his son Christian played hockey with us the very night before he passed. He was a coach’s dream "whatever you need coach”. He was a very gentle and kind man, he loved his family and friends and I never saw him not laughing and in good spirits.
Rob has been involved in Utah hockey since he played squirts. I saw him evolve from a teenager to a father/husband with a family. We also watched his son from a baby being brought into the locker room on his knee, to a young man playing hockey with us. Rob was also now coaching his son for the Oquirrh Mountaineers.
Here are a few words from his HS buddies and his closest friends.
By John Kammerman
“Robbie brought the best out of people because there was no judgment, it was OK to be different, Robbie embraced it. Robbie, Geoff and I became fast friends. Ice hockey, roller hockey, watching hockey was life and it fueled the best friendships I have ever known. The three of grew up together through HS, Robbie was the responsible one and a leader. Forever will the number 77 be retired in my heart”

The last time I was with Rob, we were front row at the last of shows for the Tragically Hip in Toronto, we took a limo to the show. I showed him my town and the cottage and he smiled the entire time, a truly fantastic time together. Rob discovered Tragically Hip when his Mom sent him to hockey camp around the age of 13 in Calgary Alberta. I was there the day he met his wife....Jen changed his life for the best and helped him through losing his mother. I love him like few others and I will try to pass my love forward to all that loved him...I'm going to miss you buddy.
Both Rob and Jen worked full time jobs to enable them to purchase a house and make a home for their family. During this incredibly hard time I ask we help Jen Jennings to stay focused on her children and not be burdened with the immediate and future financial demands.

PS. Jen Jennings (Rob's wife) will be receiving these funds. I will either withdraw them and create a cashiers check or change my account to hers. I will talk with Jen about how she wants to receive these funds.
