Rob - let’s get him more mobile!

As many of you will know, on 9th December 2021, Rob, my brother, had a catastrophic brain haemorrhage that changed his life forever and limited what he is able to do both physically and mentally.
Some 18 months after the subarachnoid haemorrhage he remains in rehabilitation, not able to stand or walk, paralysed down his left side, with a tracheostomy, feeding tube and catheter. His higher mental functions are reduced, and his speaking and comprehension are considerably reduced.
Rob was very much an outdoor person who loved to run, cycle, ski and walk in the countryside. He has barely been outside and remains in rehabilitation confined to one room most of the time.
We would like to expand Rob’s limited experiences and bring some pleasure, stimulation and enjoyment to Rob’s now very restricted life.
To this end, Ian, Oliver and Richard are going on a sponsored bike ride to raise £3000 for a portable electric wheelchair, to enable him to get outside more often. The ride will be 1500 km and follow the entire course of the Rhine River from its source in the Swiss Alps to the Hook of Holland, passing through Switzerland, Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria and France. We will start in mid-June and hope to cycle around 100 kms a day, arriving back home in early July.
If you would like to contribute to this fundraising effort to raise money for Rob’s electric wheelchair, please contribute on GoFundMe.
Thank you.
