Rob Weyers and Samantha Need Our Support

Hello for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Lisa Roos and I met Rob Weyers while working in South Assembly years ago. Then worked together again in North QC

Many of you at TMMC may know Rob from the North and or South Plant.

Rob’s wife Samantha has been battling cancer, since 2015 which started with a diagnosis of inflammatory Breast Cancer.

Samantha was a warrior during her chemotherapy/radiation and lost her breast, after surgery and treatment Rob was needed at home to help care for his wife and children which was unpaid.

At this time they had to sell their home and downsize to make ends meet.

5 Years passed and just when they thought they could relax and start enjoying life with their 4 children, cancer raised its ugly head again requiring Samantha to have another mastectomy.

Fast forward to the end of the pandemic, Samantha was declining at a rapid rate and even with her medical history, she was told not to keep living in her medical past and live her life.

Samantha knowing something was seriously wrong, had to advocate for herself and pursue a specialist in Hamilton.

Upon further testing it was discovered Samantha has a brain tumour affecting her pituitary gland, and brain surgery took place in July.

It now has been confirmed that it is indeed an extremely rare metastatic cancer.

Once again Samantha is in for the fight of her life and with her husband Rob by her side, she will be starting concentrated radiation on her brain along with additional cancer treatments.

Samantha was told last year that she can no longer work

The last 8 yrs have been a HUGE emotional and financial struggle for this family of 6! Rob has had to miss a great deal of time from work unpaid as a primary caregiver. All funds will help the family with transportation to and from treatment and monthly household expenses.
