Robbeburg Stands With Refugees
Donation protected
Since the beginning of the war, Robbeburg has wanted to serve the Ukrainian community, particularly the refugees who are currently located in Amsterdam. We have spent time forming connections within the wider community and discovered that there is currently a lack of activities available for mothers with children under the age of 4 who are located in Amsterdam. Their children are too young for school, and activities that are organized for older children cannot benefit them.
Robbeburg wants to help to fill this gap. We have organized weekly playgroups for Ukrainian mothers and their young children. These playgroups are currently running on Thursday afternoons and are free of charge. This program has so far been successful and we are happy we have been able to provide this safe space.
Unfortunately, Robbeburg itself is a not for profit. Since the beginning of the corona crisis our own financial situation has been extremely difficult. Because we do not currently have any extra funds available, we have struggled to provide these women and children with everything we would like to.
With your help, we would be able to provide food and drinks, invest in some reading materials in the Ukrainian and Russian languages (as some of the mothers and children speak Russian as their first language), and pay the cleaning costs associated with additional use of the space. Should additional funds be raised we would also be able to provide entertainment for the children in some weeks, such as a face painter or a bouncy castle.
At present the program is set to run for 16 weeks.
PROPOSED BUDGET
Food and drink: 400 Euro (approximately 25 Euro per week). Raising the full amount would enable us to offer a quality selection of hot and cold drinks as well as some healthy food options for both adults and children.
Books in their native languages: 250 Euro would go toward a small but diverse selection of children's books in these languages as well as a few books for the mothers in our give a book take a book corner
Incidental costs: 190 Euro (approximately 12 euro per week) toward costs such as cleaning and replacement of products:
Entertainment for the Children: 250 Euro toward expenses such as a bouncy castle or face painter or music teacher
Adding a Second Weekday Session: 375 Euro on top of the other funds would enable us to add an additional afternoon session each week.
Goal: 1465 Euro. The goal of 1575 Euro reflects GoFundMe's fees which are taken from all donations.
Any additional funds raised, however big or small, will be used towards sourcing entertainment for the children.
