Robbie Does His Block (55 Times)

Hi everyone!

Attached to every new fund-raising initiative there is always a HOW, WHEN, WHERE and WHY.

WHY

2021 equates to me turning 55 years young. To celebrate my good health and well-being on October 1st 2021 I plan to run 55 laps of my neighbourhood local block to raise funds for and awareness of endED.

I recently got to know Mark and Gay Forbes and their great sacrifice to help their two young daughters battle an eating disorder.  To learn about the struggle they, as a family, have faced over the years made me want to get out there and make a difference by raising money to support their cause, a cause that sadly many families face on a daily basis.

Mark and Gay have recently completed construction of Australia’s first live-in residential eating disorder facility at Mooloolah Valley.

They sold their own home to ensure the project’s success and the operators (Butterfly Foundation) have recently opened the doors to welcome the first ED residential participants.

They have since gone on to establish the endED House of Hope at Woombye which currently acts as a support group base, a preventative space and will become a transitional house for those exiting the residential program at Mooloolah Valley.

endED have now opened the endED Espresso Bar at Buddina which now provides a safe work environment for those endED have supported through their own ED journey.

All funds raised from ROBBIE DOES HIS BLOCK will go directly to endED so that they can continue their community support work through employment of lived experience recovery coaches.

WHERE and WHEN

At 12:00pm on the 1st of October I will kick off on my 6.7km ‘local block’ (plan attached) and run the same block 55 times starting on the hour, every hour until finishing at 6:00pm Sunday 3rd.

HOW

There are three ways to provide sponsorship.

General donation, and no donation is too small. Your generosity will be acknowledged through endED’s social media and the go fund me platform.

Sponsor a BLOCK for $500. If you or your company/business chooses to sponsor a block then that block will be dedicated to YOU. If you are a business then your company T-shirt or cap will be worn for that block. If you personally sponsor a block then lets create your own T-shirt. If you do choose to sponsor a block, you will be supporting me in the darkest hours of this journey. Select your chosen block and I will dedicate the lap to you. Your block donation support will be acknowledged through all endED social media channels.

If you are really motivated for change you might choose to run your own block for endED. Form a team, take up the challenge and save a life.

All of the money raised from ‘ROBBIE DOES HIS BLOCK’ will go towards helping this amazing local charity and will directly support endED to help change lives.
