Robbie Farewell Funds

My name is Carl Mickman, and I'm fundraising on behalf of Robbie Johnson. Robbie and his husband Jim were longtime employees at Auld Sweet Olive BnB, the business (and home) I bought when I moved home to New Orleans. Jim and Robbie were my employees for only a month before Jim was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and he died from an infection only one month after starting chemo.

Robbie has an intellectual disability, and since Jim's death has been unable to manage his affairs. The home he and Jim shared is scheduled to be foreclosed on November 16th. Robbie has not been receiving his disability money for nearly a year, has not received any of Jim's survivor benefits, has not and has not had electricity in his house for the last several months.

Robbie has no family in the area, and we are planning to help him move back to Wisconsin to be near his mother. However, Robbie has significant expenses and debts to cover before he might be able to start over again. We will be hosting a yard sale to help him pay some of his bills, however this will probably be insufficient to cover his move back to Wisconsin.

We are asking for money to pay for a plane ticket, moving expenses, and enough money to pay for his first month's rent in Wisconsin.
