Robbie Ortiz and his family.

As most of you know Robbie has suffered a stroke in his left frontal lobe, as well as two others that were discovered on the MRI results, Monday morning before the stroke was uncovered, he had a seizure that had restricted his airways and was rushed to Clark Regional medical center. There he suffered three more seizures and had to be placed on a ventilator to protect his air ways and give the doctors time to gather more scans and tests to figure out exactly what was taking place, in the ICU they confirmed the 3 strokes in his brain, as well as a massive clot in his left main artery in his neck. From there he was airlifted to University of Kentucky hospital. once he made it to UK he was rushed in the OR and doctors were able to take a better look at the clot , but ultimately opted to not remove it surgically due to the high risk of the clot and location. They were afraid by removing it, he could have suffered another stroke, or more clots would began to form. Thankfully his brain is getting sufficient blood flow despite the blockage. As of now he is at UK being treated for high uncontrolled blood pressure, uncontrolled type 1 diabetes, seizures, and is working with a stroke team to evaluate what extensive damage has been done from the three strokes. There’s still many tests and puzzle pieces for doctors to see a full picture of what exactly happened, why, and where we go from here. The neurologist is evaluating how much damage the strokes have caused, as well as the four seizures that he suffered from Monday. We will know more answers of how inflamed his brain is as the day goes on. As of now, he is showing weakness in the right side of his body, his speech has been somewhat effected, personality has been impacted, and is expected to have a long stay here at the hospital to continue to discover answers as to why this happened to began with and how we move forward to prevent it. when he will be discharged he will then have to have 24/7 care at a rehabilitation center to rehab and get him back to where he needs to be to eventually and hopefully make it home. With all this being said, Robbie has a long road to recovering and getting back on his feet. Robbie and Alexis share two beautiful children, Carson (11 years old) and Bodhi (6 years old) and is the only son of his aging father. If you know robbie personally you know he is a very hardworking, and kind person who is ready to lend a hand in any situation with a smile on his face and if he’s not with his children, he’s working to provide for them. With the amount of seizures he’s endured and the means to control the seizures, the blockage of his main left artery, uncontrolled blood pressure, uncontrolled diabetes, and his recent strokes he will be off work for the foreseeable future and the greatest priority is making sure he doesn’t suffer further damage and will be in rehabilitation once he’s discharged. We kindly request your support to help alleviate the financial burden faced by Robbies family. Your generous contributions will enable them to cover the living expenses, cost of bills, and housing that will take place while Robbie is out of work and in the necessary ongoing rehabilitation and medical care to ensure a brighter future for Robbie and his family as he continues to rebuild his life from the ground up. We sincerely thank you for your consideration, kindness, prayers and unwavering support. Your contribution, no matter the size, will be blessing, healing, and resilience for Robbie and his loved ones. Please share it to your friends and families as that would be of great help and assistance to someone who is in a time of need.
