Robbie and Alex run the Greensand Marathon
Donation protected
On 17th March Robbie Stanley-Smith and Alex Finlayson will be attempting to complete a one-off edition of the now-discontinued and famously challenging Trionium Greensand Marathon in the Surrey Hills near Dorking, held in memory of Robbie’s late cousin Ed Catmur, who holds the men’s course record.
Donations will be split equally between the three charities/organisations suggested at the recent memorial: Autistica, Vitality Parkrun and Penrith Mountain Rescue.
Autistica is the UK's leading autism research charity, building longer, healthier, happier lives for all autistic people and their families.
Vitality Parkrun is a free community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning. Junior Parkrun is 2k, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families, every Sunday morning.
Penrith Mountain Rescue is entirely funded by donations and all members are unpaid volunteers, willing to respond any day of the year in any weather. The operational members of the Team commit to a rigorous program of training throughout the year, covering casualty care, off-road and ‘blue-light’ driving, radio communications, search management and Swiftwater rescue. We respond to on average 60+ callouts a year and are on call 365 days per year, 24 hours per day.
