Send Robby to Indonesia to Serve +
Family and Friends,
I have an amazing opportunity to serve in Indonesia through surfing and serving the community and sharing love and hope to those who have never had the opportunity to hear it. The organization is called Surfing the Nations and they are an organization that helps and serves the needs of the community using surfing as an entry point into the community. They build trust and friendship earning the ability to share and serve these people in forgotten regions of the world. I would be in Indonesia for 3 weeks going to some indigenous places giving themclothing, building things and serving the community as best as we can, in any way that is needed.
This opportunity is daunting but needed, recently I heard Bob Goff speak at a church in the Chicago area, (where I am going to University) he was talking about having a comfortable faith and uncomfortable faith. He explained that God calls us to have uncomfortable faith and trust in God and God alone. If I am able to raise the funds and GO with this team, I hope for growth and just a heart to serve and love those who don’t have anything. God calls us to be his hands and feet and that’s what I desire to do, Bob Goff put it this way “Love God, Love people, and do stuff”
The only way this trip could happen for me is if you guys could support me by donating. Since the trip is on the other side of the world the cost are pretty high but I believe God will provide to make the means for this to happen. So I ask for your prayers, donations, and support through this crazy adventure to serve the Lord who made us his ambassadors.
If I can raise the funds to go I will be serving in Indonesia from July 1-25. The airfare is from Hawaii (SFN headquarters) to Indonesia and back is $1600, and ground expenses are $1325, and they suggest $400 in spending money. This part of the airfare deadline is due May 1, so if you are able to help me with that I would be eternally grateful. Any amount will be so helpful.
+ I will be serving as summer staff at YoungLife Camp (4 weeks) in Colorado May 21 - June 23 before going to to Indonesia and :
+ directly after Indonesia I will be serving in Georgia at Sharp top Cove YoungLife Camp as a leader with my YOUNGLIFE friends (high school guys) from Chicago.
+ The airfare to Hawaii to meet up with team to Indonesia after Colorado and the flight back from Hawaii to Georgia is an additional cost. This will be an additional $900. Thanks again for helping with these costs. I will be launching a web site to give more information about all three Service opportunities I will be involved in, and I am thankful to have been accepted to serve. Summer of Service . . . here I come, with your help.
