Robert (Bob) Giesel Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Loree Kramar and I am a resident on Island Lake in New Lisbon, WI. On 9/2/2023 we were all enjoying a beautiful day on Island Lake with family and friends when Bob experienced a tragic accident, after a quick dive into the lake. To put into simple terms Bob fractured his C4 and the disc was bulging. Upon arrival at UW Health in Madison he had a CT, an orthopedic specialist was called in and determined that he would need surgery as soon as possible. They immediately formed a team and started working on the plan. They tried traction with weights to stretch and pop it back into place to relieve the pressure on the spinal cord , that helped a little. They did an MRI before surgery on 9/3 and came up with the plan. They would realign the C4 and C5 and remove the disc and replace it with cadaver and fuse the C4 and C5 together to hold into place. The surgery couldn’t have went any better! He can move his right leg and foot a tiny bit which is a great sign as he was not able to move it prior to the surgery. As thankful as his entire family is, this is only the beginning to a very long recovery (at least a year at this point). Bob's wife, Brittny, is a homemaker and they have 3 beautiful young children. ages 9,8 and 5. Bob is a very active father and husband, the kind of guy that will help anyone! His profession is a technician for Audi. He loves to fish, hunt and spend time with his family and friends, and spend weekends up at the lake house with his family. Today I am praying you will all reach into your pockets and support this beautiful family as much as you can. No amount is too little. For those of you who cannot afford to donate, please keep this family in your prayers. Thank you for taking the time to read this and help one of our Island Lake families.
