Robert Bruce - Cancer Centre of SE ON (Kingston)

Friends & Family..
This past August our beloved dad received news of his cancer diagnosis. After being mistreated for a lung infection he returned to the hospital for a follow up, only to find out that his pain was from a fracture in his spine, caused by cancer. It originated in his prostate and metastasized into his bones which is now irreversible. He will begin chemo and radiation in the next couple weeks, and has remained the same gentle, humble man, that he has been since the day he chose me and my siblings as his bonus children 17 years ago.
In the photo above, Rob is on the left (in blue), and he is accompanied by his brother Dave. It was only one week after Rob returned from Dave’s memorial in August, that he himself was diagnosed with the same cancer that took his brother’s life.
Myself, my sister Emily, brother Taylor, step-brother Thom, and my husband Tyler, have come together to pledge running 1km per $10 donated from Oct 1st-Oct 31st. We will share the kms collectively (with Emily pulling some of the weight) and post an update on our total km’s once a week.
Our goal is $3,000 and 100% of the proceeds will go to where Rob will be receiving his treatment:
The Cancer Centre of Southeastern ON (Kingston)
While we wish our donations were going towards a developed cure, right now all we can do is support the organizations that buy us more time with our loved ones through the administration of treatments.
We truly can’t thank you enough for your support ❤️
