Help Robert Colman get thru this time of cancer

Donation protected
At this time, I just wanted to keep everyone updated on my progress. I am entering the next stage of my cancer treatment which has returned to a couple of different areas. I have currently returned from a Stem cell transplant treatment at MASS GENERAL HOSPITAL(16 days in the hospital). As far as today I want to thank everyone who has donated so far. It has been greatly appreciated. Going forward the medical bills are still accumulating so again I am asking everyone to consider donating to my cause. Also being out of work has been putting a strain on the household budget. Thank you and God bless everyone.

In May, Robert was diagnosed with multiple myeloma after multiple trips to the emergency department with increasing severe back pain. After several rounds of tests and imaging, we were told that Robert had a lesion on his spine which was affecting T10-T12. One vertebra was so severely damaged that it broke, and another showed signs of being crushed. After meeting with the oncologist some days later, treatment was started which consists of multiple medications from steroids to chemotherapy. One such medication costs over $10,000.00 for one dose. Thankfully, Robert has been awarded a grant to cover the cost of most of this medication, however, that is only for a set period of time. This along with constant doctor appointments and the loss of the household's primary income source has greatly affected Robert and Marie’s daily lives. Most recently, Robert was told by his provider team that they would be starting radiation therapy in an attempt to decrease the size of the mass in his spine. Robert has been experiencing increased pain which new imaging shows as being caused by his T11 vertebra now breaking. This is all happening at a time in Robert and Marie’s lives that many of us think of as a period to slow down and do more of the things we like to do, work less, and worry less. The financial implications of this diagnosis have been insurmountable, from the cost of Robert being out of work, to medications and needing a back brace that his insurance didn’t cover, along with the possibility of needing a bone marrow transplant that would require multiple stays in Boston. We are asking for any financial help that you can provide to this family during this challenging time.

Thanks,

Joe
