A Marine’s Journey Home

Donation protected
Robert Williams is a son, a brother, a protector, a dreamer, a Marine. He is a man bloomed from love and care. He is always seen with a smile on his face and an open hand to help pull someone up from the ruins. Robert Williams served in the United States Marine Corp for five years and bravely stood up to the call of duty to serve in Afghanistan. Robert gladly volunteered to be deployed to shield another from the harshness of war.

Robert Williams tragically passed away on March 9, 2018. Robert was a twenty-seven-year-old chemical engineering student at Santa Barbara City College. He worked extensively with the local Veterans Affairs to mentor and guide fellow veterans. Robert whole-heartedly encompassed the duties of a Marine. He was a gentle and given soul, a man determined to spring forth joy and love to everyone that came into his path. Robert grew up in South Florida in a rambunctious and traditional Jamaican family.

Robert spent the majority of his active duty assignment in San Diego, California and upon leaving the USMC he decided that California would now be his home away from home. He quickly took hold of the beauties of California and enjoyed swimming, surfing, and hiking the picturesque California coast. A memorial in his honor will be held on May 11, 2018 in Santa Barbara, California. The financial constraints of gathering in California as a family has been difficult. We are asking for donations to lift our voices in a final ‘Oorah!’ to salute our American hero.
