Hello. My name is Robert Kauk. I have been battling extreme severe medical issues with my stomach for several months. I wake up everyday in pain associated with my stomach. The pain never goes away. My doctors are helping manage my pain, but it never goes away entirely. I have a lot of pain, stomach queasiness, stomach nausea and a very active stomach on a 24/7 basis. I have been receiving care from a GI Dr at Jewish Hospital in Denver. Sadly, making it to this doctor has become logistically an issue because the hospital is 90 miles away in Denver. It has been very difficult to make appointments. I am considering changing my care to UC Health in Greeley. I have heard very good things about the Gastrologists Drs at UC Health both in Greeley and Denver. Im considering switching to UC Health because the process is going too slow at Jewish Hospital.
I have not been able to work because of my severe health condition. This has created a big hardship in my life financially not having an income of any kind. It has made it difficult to obtain food and simple daily necessities, things we use around the house everyday but never really think about how necessary they are like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, facial tissue....etc
So everyday has become a matter of survival for me. Everyday I have to try to come up with ways to have the means to get food and daily necessities and also food for my two cats.
I am unable to work because of the severe pain I am in. The severe pain would make it very difficult to focus and to have any energy necessary to do the job. Also I have severe bathroom issues. My digestive system does not work right. Therefore I am in the bathroom a lot. Right now if I was to go to work I would probably spend more time in the bathroom then doing the job. So working has been not possible right now.
I am in dire straits financially. I literally only have a couple of dollars in my checking account. Quite literally I have like $2.01. I do not have a savings account. My savings account is gone because I had to use it when I got sick to get necessary daily living expense items.
I am once again reaching out and asking for your help. I am sorry and I apologize if my fundraising has been off putting. Please understand this is my only way right now to try to have the means to get food and daily supplies.
I am working at trying to qualify for disability and or SSI benefits. Both of these items take several months to receive and it is very difficult to get approved. Very very difficult to get approved. You have to be persistent and it takes a lot of time. But this is my future plan, but I'm needing help right now immediately!
Right now I have a goal of raising $500. Every donation would be used either for food or daily necessities around the home.
Please help!! My illness is legitimate and I would not be publicly asking for help if it wasn't absolutely necessary for survival. My primary care provider is out of the Brush Hospital, and as I said right now my GI doctor is at Jewish hospital in Denver but I'm thinking of switching because of logistical issues.
Please help me have the supplies and the food I need. I would be so very grateful. Thank you.
