Robert L. Leoni Memorial Fund

Robert Leighton Leoni lost a battle to the coronavirus and passed on Friday, August 7, 2020. He is survived by his sister, Diane Jacobsen, son Anthony Leoni (wife Karina Leoni and granddaughter Anyssa Leoni), daughters Natalie Siskin (husband David Siskin) and Elana Leoni, and longtime friend, Terry Leoni.

There is no way to begin to summarize a life for someone who has lived so fully. Below, we've mentioned some highlights but many more stories and a more complete description will come, as we continue to process his passing. We'll also provide opportunities for you all to share your stories and photos.

For many of you that knew Robert, he always had a fun story to tell and more often than not, he was the center of the story doing something either incredibly dangerous or ridiculously fun. He was a man that smiled, laughed, and was kind to anyone who he encountered.

Robert was a man that truly lived life to the fullest and when recently asked about his life, he said: "I've had a wonderful life, and better than most!" His many passions in life led him to raise horses (and even race some of them), running a race car team, sailing and diving around the world, and so much more. Robert
loved traveling, visited and lived in too many countries to keep track of, and started many import/export businesses throughout his life. Robert was a very social person and was loved deeply by his friends, family, and pets (Dog: Vinny Cat: Monsoon).

We're raising some funds to help us with:
- Moving/Misc. utilities and expenses to transition Robert's home and things
- Outstanding bills and expenses
- Direct Funeral services
- Memorial Service fees (we may do two services during and post pandemic):
    - Any boating fees (gas, charter if needed etc.)
    - Food for the service
    - Misc. expenses
- Potentially reserving a bench in Sausalito in his honor (if enough funds are raised)

Any funds not used, will be donated to The Prison University Project, where we are also encouraging donations in Robert's honor. Robert's eldest daughter, Elana Leoni, is a board member of this nonprofit and many of you may also know that Robert spent many years incarcerated. The Prison University Project provides a high-quality college education to people at San Quentin, and also advocate to expand access to higher education in prisons across California.

Thank you all in advance for considering helping the Leoni Family through this extremely difficult period. There are no words to describe the massive hole that Robert has left this world. We will all continue to love and remember him for the rest of our lives. Rest in peace.
