Hello,
I’m Robert Lewis, a 34 year old musician from Shropshire. I’m raising money to help fund my attendance at the TM Teacher Training Course in Thailand this September.

I moved to Liverpool when I was 18 to study sound engineering, and have since worked in numerous live music venues across the city as well as working on band tours around Europe. Having had a fairly chaotic upbringing, I have always found comfort in music and the arts.
In 2009 I learnt Transcendental Meditation with the amazing Pat Stone, and from that point onwards have always seen the crossover between TM and my other passions. Up until the recent global health pandemic I was working at a music venue where our whole sound engineering team were practicing TM. It’s had an incredible impact on the health and wellbeing of those involved in creative industries, and I’m excited to continue developing this relationship further.
Having all live music gigs cancelled due to Covid-19 left me in a difficult financial situation; when I had been hoping to continue saving for the TTC I was instead having to use my savings for food and rent. Thanks to natural support I was fortunate to find a job at the YMCA, providing food for 70 residents of a hostel who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets. Having meditated with residents in a drug rehab facility, I am passionate about bringing TM to these communities as well – both the residents themselves, and the hard working support staff.
TM has had a profoundly positive impact on my life, which I was always be grateful for. The next step for me is to be able to share TM with others, so I’m looking forward to becoming a qualified teacher!

I’m aiming to raise £25,000 funding to cover the £15,000 course fees, £5,000 for travel, visas and insurance, and then some money left over to pay my rent whilst I’m away. I’d love for this song to fund my learning so that sponsorship can be saved for those who need it.
All support is hugely appreciated in my journey to becoming a teacher.
