Robert M. Bush: Celebration of Life

In April 2023, Robert Bush was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. After a brief, excruciating battle, he passed away on October 19, just 12 days after his 65th birthday. A jazz music critic for the last 14 years based in San Diego, California, Robert was an admired champion, advocate and friend to many, both within the genre and throughout the music community locally and around the world.

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, Robert’s family will hold a Celebration of Life to remember him; several of his closest musical friends have been invited to honor Robert’s memory - Mark Dresser, Joshua White, Peter Sprague & Rob Thorsen. If you would like to support the family in their plans to celebrate Robert’s life, as well as solidify his legacy - the compilation of missing content and updating his website so that it may be a resource for jazz lovers well beyond his lifetime - your gifts are deeply appreciated.
