Robert McFarland Family Fund
Donation protected
On the morning of Tuesday March 23rd, Correctional Officer Robert McFarland was working his shift at the Anamosa State Penitentiary in Anamosa, Iowa. Robert and Registered Nurse Lorena Schulte tragically lost their lives that morning as they were assaulted by two inmates attempting an escape. Robert and Lorena gave the ultimate sacrifice while doing their jobs protecting and serving citizens of the State of Iowa, as well as fellow staff and the incarcerated individuals at the Anamosa State Penitentiary.
Robert was 46 years old and leaves behind his wife Sara and 3 children, Colten, Zach and Casen. In addition to his work as a Correctional Officer for the State of Iowa, Robert was also a Volunteer Firefighter with the Ely Fire Department.
All funds raised will go to Robert's wife Sara, with the goal of providing the McFarland family with an unforgettable vacation. As the family continues to process their heart aching loss, we will aim to raise money to send them on a trip of a lifetime that will allow them to bond together and honor Robert in a way of happiness and togetherness. With all the tough times and adversity they face dealing with the tragic loss of their beloved father and husband, the family deserves a time of peace, happiness and adventure.
Robert sacrificed his time, energy, passion and ultimately his life to serve his community. Let's work together to show our appreciation for his dedication and selflessness. The goal is to honor Robert by sending his family anywhere in the world they wish to go and provide them with some much deserved laughs, smiles and memories that will last forever.
Thank you for your donations. Other avenues of donating are currently being worked on as well. Please feel free to send me any questions or inquiries about this fundraiser at anytime. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
