Robert Milton's Stage 4 Glioblastoma Treatment
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Jes, and I'm fundraising for my dad's Stage 4 Inoperable & Terminal Glioblastoma treatment and care.
My dad is the strongest man I know. He's only 56 years young, with the biggest heart! Even with 7 kids (his, hers, theirs, and 1 adopted - the youngest still in high school) he has always opened his heart and home to anyone who has needed it. His has always put himself last, working endlessly to create the best life he can for his family. We are completely devastated!
My dad only began to have symptoms of feeling "off" on 2/19. Over the following days he began to have headaches, feel dizzy, and began having issues with his speech. On 2/23, only 4 days later, he went to see his doctor who transferred him to the downtown hospital for imaging where they found a brain tumor in his left front lobe. They kept him overnight and did a biopsy the next day, 2/24. After a night in the ICU he went home and we were told to be optimistic. We heard nothing until Monday 03/07/2022, when our whole world caved in with the news that he has stage 4 Glioblastoma. The tumor is nearly the size of a baseball and is also inoperable as it has incorporated itself into his brainstem.

"Glioblastoma (GB), or grade IV astrocytoma, is the most aggressive of primary tumors of the brain for which no cure is available. Management remains palliative and includes... radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. With optimal treatment, patients with GBs have a median survival of less than one year. About 2% of patients survive three years." (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3037140/). "This is also one of the most expensive cancers to treat with estimated costs of $268,031 for patients with insurance." (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28777020/)
As the sole provider for his family for the last 23 years, and no longer able to work, we are asking to anything you can spare. My hope with this platform is to simply help remove some of the burden associated with the cost of treatment and our family's expenses during this unimaginable period of our lives. Every penny of generosity is deeply appreciated.
My Mom & Dad have also set up a Venmo for those who would prefer to share that way: @Robert_KathyM
