Robert Ramsour's Cancer Fundraiser

On November 29, 2016 my father, Robert Ramsour, was suffering from severe headaches. To relieve the pain he went into the E.R. and after a C.T. scan the doctors found a tumor on the left side of his brain. He was immediately scheduled for surgery on December 1 to remove the brain tumor. The craniotomy went well and the tumor was removed with no damage to his brain. His memory and word recall returned. It would be two weeks before the pathology reports would come back to tell us whether this tumor was benign or malignant.
On December 14, we received the devastating news that my father had been diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme stage IV, this is an aggressive form of brain cancer that rapidly grows and is highly malignant. Although there is no known cure we are committed to keeping him alive as long as possible. With treatment, my father only has a 50% chance of surviving 15 months. He is currently undergoing his first round of radiation and chemotherapy. We are open to eastern and western treatments for the best possible outcome.

He and my mom have been married for 32 years and they have raised 3 children including myself. He is a devoted and loving husband and father, and continues to be a remarkable role model who spins any situation into a funny one. My father has always been a humorous and generous man. He has a strong will to do everything he can to live as long as possible for himself and for his family.
To anyone who has been through this, and those of you who have not, serious illnesses such as this are very costly even with insurance. The costs of deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses are rapidly rising. My father is the main financial provider, and sole provider of health insurance for our family. Since his diagnosis he has been unable to drive or work. We are trying to do everything within our power to get him the best possible treatment. There is a holistic clinic in Mexico that has been known for treating this form of cancer and will detox his body from the harmful effects of the chemo and radiation, as well as treat the cancer. We are already in contact with the oncologist in Mexico and all my father’s medical records and MRI’s have been sent over. Unfortunately, the cost is $16,000.00 + and will not be covered by insurance. His liver is already showing signs of distress from the chemo and we would like to get him there by mid to late February. If you are able, please help my Dad with financing this treatment, accommodations, travel, and other medical expenses.
