Robert Szuch

Hi, My name is Ryan Segrue and I am the Golf Course Superintendent at Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk, Connecticut.

My staff and I are hoping to raise some money to help one of our longtime and most beloved employees, Bobby Szuch. Bobby was recently diagnosed and underwent surgery for colon cancer and is currently recovering. Due to his financial situation Bobby has been forced to come back to work to support his family. We love having Bobby around but he is struggling both physically and financially. Medical bills are causing his utility payments and his mortgage payments to the back burner.

Bobby has been employed on the grounds crew at Shorehaven Golf Club for 19 years and is one of our most reliable and recognizable employees. Even into his 70s Bobby is the first one at work each morning to open the building, make coffee for his co-workers and set up all of our equipment for the day. Bobby is a major part of our team and he is loved and respected by all who have the opportunity to interact with him each day.

Members will recognize Bobby as our main rough mower, spending the majority of his days on his big green John Deer keeping Shorehaven a great place to play while smiling and waving as members pass by. Bobby is always the first to volunteer to roll greens for all of our big tournaments and even helps the younger staff finish up raking the bunkers ensuring the course is ready to go each day.

Although Bobby is "retired" up until his diagnosis he was working over 30 hours a week to help support his family, which included taking care of the grandchildren of his wife in their time of need. Bobby is a selfless individual and would never ask for help but he and his family need it. We are hoping to provide a little something to help them through this extremely difficult time.
