I'm not even sure how to begin other than, I have testicular cancer.  I'm 39 years old with a 14 year old daughter. I love photography and currently volunteer coaching softball.  I have been without a job since January due to downsizing, but luckily found something great a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I am currently without medical insurance for a couple more months. This started on the Friday morning of March 26 at 4am with a slight pain in my groin.  I still went to work but throughout the day the pain got worse.  When I got home from work the pain was unbearable. My daughter and I were going to go eat but instead I drove us to the nearest urgent care facility where they checked me out and sent us away to the the nearest emergency room. I then got back in my car, still in crazy pain and drove to the ER.  At the time I could not tell my daughter what was wrong and why I was hurting so much but I'm sure she was scared since she has never seen me in so much pain. While at the ER they gave me mild pain relief and it's when they told me what it could be and for me to see the urologist. I stayed in the ER until 1am and went home still in pain. The next morning I made an appointment with the next available urologist which was Tuesday. The pain was still there but with lots of ibuprofen it was getting me through the day. The urologist ran tests and that Thursday the 29th of March is when I found out I have testicular cancer. My heart broke, I was scared. My mind was moving full speed but all I could think about was my daughter an whats going to happen to me how was I going to tell her. They suggested surgery right away but without insurance the surgery was going to be costly. Which brings me to today. The financial part of this whole unfortunate event in my life. Going back and forth with trying to get insurance and seeing if they will cover me at that time. Calling the hospital and seeing if they take certain Insurances. I could not get an insurance plan that would cover me so the hospital gave me the cost of the surgery. $27,000. They were so nice as to give a cash upfront discount which brought the surgery cost down to $9800. And by upfront, I mean they want it on the day of the surgery before they start. While I was trying to figure out how to get the funds I received the ER bill in the mail which was $12,500, which was a stab in the back and then more bills came in from the ER doctors and the urologist fees and the Lab fees. So needless to say, they are adding up fast. I have a hard time asking for help but at this point its really getting stressful and I'm scared to wait any longer to have surgery.  I am hoping to raise the amount to at least cover the surgery cost. I pray this finds those who have a big heart and are willing to help. Thank you!
