If you were only given 3 months...

My dad is Robert and he was given 3 months yesterday by his Doctor.  His PET scan and MRI results were not what he, his Doctor or we, his family, expected. My dad was hoping for an appointment where he would be given hope but instead he was faced with a PET scan showing aggressive spread of his cancer (Left) compared to a scan 2 months ago when he was fighting colitis (Right). 

They said they can't do anything else because of the cancer progression.  My dad was diagnosed with melanoma a little over two years ago. He wanted to continue to fight it and also wanted to continue to be an over-the-road truck driver. His Doctor got him well enough to be back in the truck for several months until about 6 months ago when dad had to stop working.   All that is left now is to treat the pain.  My dad is now facing what to do with these next 3 months. His current living situation is not good for him now and is not going to be good for him during these last months when he will need more care. My mom, sister (Autumn) and I want to bring him somewhere that will be peaceful and stress free for the time that he has left. We are doing our best to avoid him having to be in a hospital, hospice center or nursing home. We have a place we could bring him but it needs a wheelchair ramp and other modifications to make it comfortable and safe for him. My mom,  sister and I are planning to move him and tag team care for him between us.  



My dad is blessed that he has health insurance  but there are still mounting bills to cover his monthly COBRA premiums and medications that are not covered.  He has spent his whole life working hard and worrying about finances.  My sister and I are doing whatever we can financially to make sure he doesn't spend his last months worrying about a single dime and we are so grateful for any help we can get to make that happen. Funds raised will go to medical costs, handicap and other modifications needed, and whatever else is needed to make his time left as comfortable and stress free as possible.  Thank you in advance for your financial help, positive thoughts, and prayers for Robert.
