Robert Hoefling: “Stark Naked in the Bright Light”

Donation protected
Dear friends and family,

As many of you know, I have been working on my second full-length record for a long time now. Cody Clinton (producer) and I have been slowly, but surely, chipping away at it over the span of the last 3-4 years as per having the time and money to get it done in stages. We are now about 90% done with the recording part of the process. To say I have been fortunate to have Cody working as the producer on this record would be a massive understatement at best. Without his help, and him being willing to do months of work without getting paid up front, there is no way I would be anywhere near this close to having this record finished. I honestly cannot express in words how grateful, and humbled, I am that he believes in the noise I make enough to still be pushing to see this record reach completion. Our initial expectations were that this record would have been released at least a year ago, and I have felt at times as though we may never see that day come. Cody has been an extremely positive and supportive force through the entire process, and he has definitely inspired me to keep on trying and to keep believing that the day will come when "Stark Naked in the Bright Light" will be available to listen to for anyone who is interested in doing so. As I said earlier, we are about 90% done with the recording part of the process.

For those of you who are not familiar with the process of making an album, this is the most simple way it can be broken down (what it is in a condensed nutshell):

1. Recording
2. Mixing
3. Mastering
4. Manufacturing/Distribution (these are the words I'm using for "getting physical CD's made and/or formatting it to be available for digital download/ streaming")

I have been paying as much as I can possibly afford through my day jobs and playing shows to those who have helped us get to this point with the record. I have paid Cody what my finances have allowed, but it has not been near enough for all the work he has done. This is where I need your help. I need funding to get the remaining steps in the process done- mixing, mastering, manufacturing/distribution. I would also like to be able to pay Cody for all of his work. As opposed to the last campaign we ran, this platform is not a reward system; but I am going to keep track of each individual's donation, and do my best to give rewards similar to what would have been received had the last campaign been successful. I would like to be able to afford to get t-shirts made, but this reward will be dependent on what the total amount we end up receiving. Hopefully we are able to at least reach our goal. Phil Clarkin (music photographer who took the photograph that will be on the cover of the album) and I have come up with a plan for the graphic design work for the CD, and the plan is for the album artwork to be the basis for the merchandise artwork. I know an excellent graphic designer from Tulsa, Jonathan Bukofzer, who has offered a very generous deal to do all the graphic design work for the album and merchandise. So should we reach our goal, the rewards will look like this:

$15- CD
$40- CD and T-Shirt
*Les Paul body style guitars*
*1 available* $500- Electric Guitar, CD, and T-shirt
*2 available* $750- Electric Guitar, CD, and T-shirt.

Part of reason I wanted to get most of the recording done before launching a campaign is that I want to get everyone's rewards to them as soon as possible from the time they make their contribution. Like I said we have about 90% of the recording process done. We have a plan in place to put the campaign funds towards the remaining parts of the process as soon as we receive them. I can assure you that any and all contributions made to this campaign will go towards funding the album, and I have every intention of getting your rewards to you as quickly as possible. I greatly appreciate all of the support I have received from everyone in my music career up to this point. Thank you for your time and  consideration in contributing to this campaign, and for any contributions you are able to make. Every little bit helps, and words cannot express how grateful I am for anyone who is willing to help make my dreams come true. Thank you guys. It means the world to me.
