Robert Pitzer's Liver Transplant

My friend Robert is fighting for his life. He has primary sclerosing cholangitis . Robert needs a liver transplant now! Without the liver transplant my friend will die. Robert was told he needs to raise $675,000 for treatment, post-op care, medications, caregivers and the like. Health insurance will cover some of these expenses, but not all. If I had $675,000 I would gladly give it to him, but I do not.

Robert has a circle of friends who are prepared to do whatever it takes to support him and get him through this health crisis. We love him. He is part of our family.  During the past year, I lost my sister and my heart was shattered. Putting one's heart back together is a slow process and the thought of losing Robert too, so soon, I cannot wrap my mind around it. I want him to live. I am asking you to help me and his family to raise the money Robert needs to live.

Robert Pitzer is a familiar name in Washington music education. Robert taught music at Franklin High School, ran the Seattle All-City Band for 10+ years and taught music education at Western Washington University in Bellingham. Many of the music educators teaching in public schools today have either been high school students of Robert's or been under his mentorship as they completed their education to be music teachers. 

Pitzer, as many of his friends call him, is the founder and director of Jazz Underground an 18 piece Seattle-based band that plays contemporary jazz. He is also the host of a weekly radio show The Convergence Zone on KGHI 91.1 FM from Grays Harbor community radio. 

Currently Robert is the Director of Fine Arts for the Mount Vernon School District. In addition, he is completing a PhD in Music Education at the University of Washington School of Music.

Robert has been a good friend of mine for over 20 years. We met by chance during Seafair--at the Tour de Terrace parade in Mountlake Terrace-- I wanted to let him know how much I enjoyed the performance of the All City Band. Instead I choked on the water I was drinking. I tried to look cool, but that is difficult while coughing and spewing water out of your nose and mouth. He had an odd look on his face as I choked out how much I liked the band. Fortunately for me, my first impression was overlooked and we became great friends.

Please help me save the life of the friend I love so dearly. I will be forever grateful for your gift. Thank you in advance for all your help. May the world bring you great joy.
