Roberts heart transplant fund
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Carla.
Allow me to introduce you to Saint John resident,
Robert Jason Thornton
Robert is 38 years old and the father of 2 young boys.
Robert was born with a rare complex congenital heart condition and has endured many surgeries in his lifetime and is now in end stage heart faliure.
Robert's heart functions have rapidly decreased in the last 6 years,
He has been examined by Heart Specialists at the QEII Hospital in Halifax NS.
This team of Doctors have determined that a Heart Transplant is now the only option for Robert.
This process will include several trips from Saint John to the QEII Hospital in Halifax, NS.
These appointments are necessary to perform tests and check-ups required to monitor Robert to insure that he is prepared when a heart becomes available for transplant.
When Robert does receive his heart transplant it will be necessary for him to live in Halifax for several months, as he will not be strong enough to travel back and forth for weekly follow up care.
We are currently looking for donations to help Robert with his medical expenses such as travel costs, living costs while in Halifax and the costs of covering any medications and extras that Robert may need. Not all of the anti-rejection medications are covered by the government and may cost in excess of $400 or more a month.
Any donation that you can offer for the will be greatly appreciated.
Please contact me for more information.
