Robert’s Headstone
Robert Metcalf Sr. loved God, his family, and his country which he served many years in the military for. He was born January 13th, 1954 and was raised in upstate New York. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, and cousin. He brought nothing but joy to those around him. Late December 4th, 2020 he passed away of COVID-19. His funeral and burial were covered by the VA and county but we need help paying for his headstone.
The money that we raised is going towards his headstone. But that is an estimated $4,500-$5,000 starting cost. So if you could please continue to donate and/or share, we would really appreciate it. This year has been hard for everyone, we understand that. Whatever you can donate will help us out tremendously.
The reasoning for the fundraiser saying we need $7,000 is because $550 went to the cemetery cost, the cost of the placement of his military plaque is unknown but can’t be more than $500 so our amount we have left is about $1,000. But the fundraiser stays at the amount we had before which was around $2,100. If we got up to the $7,000 that would actually give us $5,900.
Our father had one wish whenever he died which was to be buried nearby his son who passed away in 1996 and we got it. Their burial plots are side-by-side, their vaults are nearly touching. We just want to make sure his headstone is beautiful and fits him perfectly. Thank you everyone, stay safe and healthy.
