Robidoux Family's Source of Hope

Hi, My name is Megan and I'm fundraising for my very much deserving mother (and best friend), Kerry; as well as, my amazing brother (and outstanding father to my two nephews), Taylor due to their very unfortunate health issues they're currently battling together. God Bless Them!

Sadly, my mother Kerry, has endured and suffered excessively from persistent illnesses for nearly the past two years now since the first outbreak of COVID when she became infected early on. Since then, these past nine months especially, have been extremely difficult for her as she's been battling severe, full-blown, autoimmune disease symptoms and autoimmune-related complications to most all her organs as well as her neurological system. The majority of my mom's allied healthcare team concludes SYSTEMIC LUPUS, although still in the diagnostic phase, they seem convinced. Likewise, as an undesirable (though common) result of Lupus, both of her kidneys have been affected. She has a mass on her left kidney that's grown significantly in the past six months and multiple lesions on both kidneys that may likely be cancer (according to doctor), along with accompanying bladder issues. Although she's always been strong-willed, persistent, and a fighter (who doesn't like to lose, lol) this has truly been an emotionally, physically, and mentally draining troublesome experience for her to say the least. She's endured so much pain and illness for so long now, my heart aches for her :(

In addition, to my disbelief, my brother Taylor has recently been diagnosed with a hypercritical condition known as neuropathy paralysis. He undergoes a multiple number of immediate and extensive surgeries (often challenging to surgeons), in order to save his (dominant) right arm, that include numerous nerve transfers and even a nerve implant from a donor. So naturally... competence and experience of the treating surgeon is a vital factor. Thankfully, Taylor has much faith in his surgeon who has been so kind and generous as to rearrange his flight and trip back home for the holidays to come back early just to perform Taylor's surgery. This surgeon has clearly implied the critical urgency of these procedures, as his hand is literally dying, and delaying these surgeries any longer just isn't an option. As well, he made sure that Taylor understood the surgeries aren't a definite guarantee, that the damage done is irreversible (but will hopefully save his arm & hand), and that this whole method of processes will take no less than a year. As it is, he can't use his right hand for much of anything anymore. He has to use his left hand to write, brush his teeth, and most everything else now. Because his hand is already dying it stays very cold and is painful for him. This cold weather doesn't help it either and can be brutally painful... and us Nebraskans all know this ain't even cold weather yet! Yikes! At any cost, this is all just so unfortunate. My brother was definitely the athlete in the family and loves to throw the ball around with both his boys and mine. Not to mention, he most recently established and legalized his own lawncare & landscaping business that was successfully launching better than he had anticipated. We're all so proud of him and his successful business accomplishments, as well was he. Sadly, those days are lost forever.

My mom & brother (and his two boys ages 4 & 6) rented a home together a few years back in La Vista, shortly after Taylor's divorce, and still remain there together in effort to reduce their cost of living... considering all these crazily insane inflations our country is and has been enduring. Needless to say, they are and have been struggling to keep a roof up over their family, let alone make all other ends meet. Such as... my mom despairingly has had her phone shut off numerous times due to nonpayment, their internet has been shut off more than once resulting in the inability to communicate back & forth with their healthcare teams as necessary. In fact, my mom was supposed to have been wearing a heart monitor at one time and it got delayed for an entire month due to her cardiologist's team inability to make contact with her because her phone service was disconnected as result of nonpayment. Nor is she able to get all of her medical needs met, due to lack of income, such as over-the-counter meds and supplements not covered by health insurance. In addition, they've had numerous utility disconnect notices. Not to mention, my mom has missed doctor appointments occasionally due to lacking gas money for transportation. She's also now dealing with the inconvenience of her rear brakes going out (metal to metal) in her KIA Sportage, which is her only means of transportation, and of course both rotors need be replaced too.

In a nutshell... together they face a long and not-so-pleasant journey ahead of them. Honestly, they're in dire need of our help & support. Let's raise them up together and make them smile again! Let them focus on their health & well-being, rather than stressfully worrying about their financial means to survive and stay afloat in the midst of drowning. Care & Share to Instill Hope Again. One small act of kindness can lead to better healing and recovery for them tomorrow. Please help me help them Get Back Up!
