Robin Gregg’s Medical Bills

As many of you know, my mother, Robin Gregg has been battling with her health for many years now. From her Leukemia diagnosis in 2015, to the bone marrow transplant immediately after, to all the complications since then, it’s been one train wreck after another. While she is cancer free and has been for many years now, complications from her bone marrow transplant have resulted in multiple autoimmune diseases including Myasthenia Gravis, Lupus, Chronic Graft vs Host, Polymyositis and Scleroderma. If you have been keeping up with her journey, you’ve seen these explained. If not, all of these diseases together affect her ability to walk, talk and live independently, as her muscles are rapidly deteriorating in all areas of her body.

Her neurologist requested a full-body MRI scan a few weeks ago, which she just received her results for. Rather than her autoimmune diseases going into remission like they normally would, she has been in a constant “flare up” for years, resulting in many different symptoms and side effects. The plan of action includes a chemo pill called Cytoxin and restarting Apheresis 3 times a week for 6 months. The new chemo pill is incredibly strong and potent, so she will be spending at least 10 days in the hospital for observation for any potentially harmful side effects. While in the hospital, she will begin her Apheresis treatments, and will need to have a procedure to change out the port in her chest to fit the size needed for this treatment.

While she does have insurance, her Apheresis treatments are not considered in-network due to the machines used and will cost thousands per treatment. Since she needs these treatments 3x a week for 6 months, the total cost will very quickly rise which will create financial issues. I am setting up this GoFundMe to raise funds for some of the costs for these out of pocket treatments so that she is able to focus solely on her health and not about the finances. Any donations are absolutely appreciated, but we are also thankful for any and all kind words, prayers and support during this very long, and seemingly never-ending journey.
