The Robin Hood Fund

Donation protected
In 2020 the Robin Hood Fund raised over £100k for food banks, homeless support,
vulnerable women, isolation and small charity support in Nottingham. The money raised went to provide food, shelter, and sanitary products.

The Nottingham Project has now relaunched the fund given the very serious threat this winter that so many vulnerable people and families in Nottingham face. This time as a permanent fundraising platform for the people of Nottingham. 100% of the donations received from the ‘GoFundMe’ platform will go to locally-based charities and organisations.

This winter the money raised will be used to support the impacts of food and energy poverty on Nottingham’s most vulnerable citizens, including those experiencing poverty for the first time. It will also support Nottingham charities and community organisations hit hard by unlimited increases in energy prices.

We will utilise the expertise of local anchor organisations to ensure that money raised has the greatest impact and reaches the places it is needed most. This winter the money raised will go to:

Hope Nottingham, the city’s largest Food Bank will ensure that the Food Bank
network receives the extra support to respond to increased needs
The Citizen Advice Centres in/across Nottingham will deploy the power of their
collective knowledge to distribute supermarket vouchers in addition to the energy
vouchers they already give out
Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service (NCVS) will ensure that grassroots organisations receive the help they need to keep going. In a recent survey 87% of Nottingham charities experienced energy cost increases of over 150% and all were using reserves to cover this increase.

Every penny will help. Remember, 100% of the money received from the GoFundMe into the charity account will go to support the chosen causes.

Please, even when we know times are hard for many, we ask that if you are able to you donate and contribute to the common good of Nottingham. We know that so much is uncertain for us all right now but the smallest contribution can make the biggest difference. The spirit of Robin Hood has created something unique in our city, now is the time to reignite that spirit so please donate today if you can and if you can’t please help us spread the word
