Robin Worthley's medical & end of life expenses.

Hi, I am Pat Colwell of Pat Colwell and the Soul Sensations. I am raising funds for the
family of our best friend, and keyboard player Robin Worthley, to help pay for the
catastrophic medical bills he recently incurred while fighting a terrible infection. The
infection ultimately ended his life on November 11, 2023. Robin had so many songs left
in him – we lost him way to soon.
Robin started feeling sick on Saturday, 11/4, and on Sunday his son took him to the
emergency room where they could not identify the illness and sent him home. By
Monday Robin could barely walk or speak, and he was rushed to the Intensive Care
Unit at CMMC in search of answers and help. The week was filled with IV fluids and
antibiotics, breathing tubes, and testing with no results. By Friday, after five days of
around the clock care and testing in the ICU, it became clear that we were losing our
dear friend.
Robin was a consummate musician and a rock for all of his family, friends, and band
mates. He shined the brightest when the music was bursting out of our souls. When
Julie or Laura belted out an Etta or Aretha tune, Robin glowed with pride! When I'd
finish a guitar solo, or Carlos, Will or Blake did an incredible run with the horns it just
filled him with joy! He clapped the loudest when Ronnie’s drums and Tib or Sean’s bass
were locked-in so tight that you couldn’t slide an angel’s hair in between them. In turn
when Robin finished an amazing run on his keyboard, as only he could, and we would
bow to him in awe, he would smile his sheepish smile, shyly blush, and play on. Our
triumphs were his. He was so special. A great and gentle soul with such talent. We were
lucky to have known him and will feel his tragic loss forever. He will always be at that
keyboard for all of us.
During our last visit on Friday I talked to him about our upcoming show on Sunday
which was a benefit for a Love is Louder rally in Augusta. We volunteered to open the
rally with LOVE as speaker after speaker delivered the important message that Love Is
Louder Than Hate here in our beloved Maine! It was going to be hard going on stage
without him. I was considering cancelling because of his illness but Robin made it clear
with his famous line, "the show must go on." Robin believed in the power of love and
music to heal.
Robin, like many career musicians had minimal insurance to cover these colossal
medical expenses or any end-of-life expenses. He fought hard to stay and would not
have wanted to leave this burden of his final expenses weighing on his wife and children
on top of losing him.
This is the last thing we can do for a man who did so much for us. Robin loved his
family, his friends, our fans, and the power of music. Please help us to help him rest
easier by helping his family in this catastrophic time. Any contribution is a gift in honor of
Robin's life of music and love.
