Robinites bikeathon for Alex Smith
Donation protected
On the weekend 26-27 November, Robinites house of Charterhouse School will be cycling for 24 hours non-stop in a spinning bike marathon to raise money for OC Alex Smith.
To save Alex's life we need your help.
Alex was diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme (GMB) in 2015, the most aggressive form of brain tumour. He has already gone through three life saving operations. However, a miraculous form of immunotherapy is now giving him an excellent chance of winning this battle.
Time is of the essence for Alex and this treatment is very expensive, so every penny really does count.
Here is the link to a video Alex made for a recent fundraising initiative; it is distressing but very powerful and moving footage:

Please read the full details of Alex's story here: https://www.gofundme.com/alexsmithtreatment
This is an opportunity to directly help save the life of an amazing person and we please ask for any donations you can offer.
Alex was Robinites housmaster Steve Hearn's tutee when he wast at Charterhouse and Alex's mother Tessa is a family friend to many of the boys and girls in the house and is regularly taking photos of various year groups for Mr Hearn.
Their strong connection to Robinites and our great affection for them makes us particularly motivated to undertake this challenge to raise as much as possible so we can do as much as we can to save Alex's life.
As a house we plan to cycle on spinning bikes non-stop for 24 hours with everyone having various shifts to cycle for a certain periods of time. It will be a difficult challenge, but a very worthy one and as a house united we will try to do our bit to help Alex as much as we can.
The whole house, boys, girls and teachers will be involved, so we please ask parents and friends to donate kindly and directly help save Alex's life.
