Robin’s Courageous Cancer Battle

Our dear friend Robin(Clark) McBride was diagnosed with triple negative inflammatory breast cancer (the most aggressive and invasive) in April 2022, when she found a large lump in her breast.

In a whirlwind of the past 12 months this is what Robin has had to endure.

1st Phase was 12 weeks of chemo (May-Sept.)

2nd Phase- another round of 12 weeks of a stronger chemo. This one didn't work as well as the first and the planned surgery for removal of the tumor had to be postponed.

By this time her personal leave and FMLA ran out at work-through her circumstances she received a no fault medical separation from her job. Robin has not been able to work for over a year now.

After surgery was postponed, they put her back on the first chemo that worked. This time it didn't so they scheduled her for radiation. After going through all the tests again, her brain scan, MRI and blood work all came back clear and the cancer had not spread!

They then took her off IV chemo, put her on chemo pills and started radiation. She has completeld 6 weeks of treatments and as of today (5-20-2023), she is waiting to have surgery to remove the cancerous tumor. This is tentively scheduled for early June.

Robin's jouney is not over and she has no idea when it will be.

Throughout all this Robin has remained positive, leaning on her faith, family and friends.

The family has endured overwhelming medical expenses as well as other setbacks. (Sewer system ruined due to the chemo drugs).
